Cognitive Cooking with Watson

Cognitive Cooking So what is Watson? On Wikipedia it's defined as: "Watson is a question answering (QA) computing system that IBM built to apply advanced natural language processing, information retrieval, knowledge representation, automated reasoning, and machine learning technologies to the field of open domain question answering." Basically it's the beginning of the end of the world. JK. Kind of...

Watson is basically a computer that understands human language input and is able to formulate answers to questions (or questions to answers a la Jeopardy).

While Watson itself is amazing, what amazes me more are the creative ways that people have thought to use Watson. One of those creative projects is Cognitive Cooking. Basically, Watson engineers teamed up with top chefs to feed (no pun intended) Watson large amounts of cookbooks and info about ingredients and tastes and how they mix together.

Using this information, Watson spits out recipes that nobody has thought of before with incredibly unique tastes. You get dishes like this: Indian Tumeric Paella
